WHAT IS SELECTIVIDAD ?
THE PREPARATION FOR SELECTIVIDAD
The preparation for the PCE/Selectividad exam lasts approximately one year. In addition to studying the Spanish language, you will also delve into Spanish history and literature, along with selected specialized subjects.
For your preparatory year for Selectividad, you have the option to undergo it in Spain or i In Morocco, there are several accredited centers to prepare for your Selectividad. However, if you wish to learn the Spanish language and practice it effectively, it is advisable to spend the preparatory year in Spain. This choice allows for cultural and linguistic immersion, facilitating a more comprehensive learning experience.
CONDUCT OF THE SELECTIVIDAD TEST
The Selectividad exam consists of a minimum of 4 written tests, forming the core assessments. However, you can add 2 specific tests based on your chosen specialization. The Selectividad unfolds in two phases:
Common Phase:
The first phase of Selectividad includes mandatory basic modules. Regardless of your chosen field of study, you must initially take these 4 tests:
1. Spanish Language and Literature
2. Foreign Language (English, French, Italian, or Portuguese)
3. History of Spain / History of Philosophy
4. Test related to your chosen specialization (Modalidad)
Specific Phase:
The tests in the specific phase are optional. If you aim to enter a general study program or have good overall grades, the tests from the common phase will suffice.
However, if you wish to improve your final grade or aspire to join selective specialty programs (“for example” medicine), you can take tests in the specific phase. During this phase, you have the option to take up to 4 specific tests, the subjects of which depend on your chosen specialization. Note that only the two highest scores will be considered.”
WHEN TO TAKE THE SELECTIVIDAD ENTRANCE EXAM?
The Selectividad exams typically take place in the month of June (regular session). However, there is a second extraordinary session held in September for those who did not succeed in the first attempt.
